Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music by the name of Harry Styles, is a British composer and performer known as a member of the band One Direction. The band is based in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England, Styles is the child of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles, a former student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive Schools Holmes Chapel Comprehensive Schools, created a band named White Eskimo together with three of his fellow students. After winning the Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to their outstanding performance, they also participated in the Battle of Bands 2010. He always had an interest in music, but also wanted to become a lawyer, physiotherapist or even scout. In order to support his family, he spent some time at a bakery. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition during which he performed the Stevie Wonder's hit song Is not She Lovely. For that reason his band had to separate. After the audition in The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles be part of a future band that would be called One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in 2010. The group sang The Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would be Sucking Without You along with Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart. In result, they made it to the finalists. However, they finished third, behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles did not receive any cash prize. However, Cowell has offered a two million-pound contract with One Direction in order for the group to join Syco Records.
